Interstate 75 runs north to south through the city of Sarasota, and other major roads here include US Route 301, Tamiami Trail/US-41, Fruitville Rd., and University Parkway.

The Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) is just minutes away, while the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) is 47 miles away and the Charlotte County Airport (PGD) and Tampa International Airport (TPA) are both 55 miles away.

One of the most popular shopping destinations in North Sarasota is the University Town Center (UTC). This premier retail, dining, and entertainment hub is located at the intersection of University Parkway and I-75.
