BEE RIDGE: OVERVIEW

Bee Ridge is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Sarasota County, just west of Interstate 75. It’s bordered by Bee Ridge Road to the north and State Road 72 to the south. You’ll find that it is a quiet, friendly neighborhood with excellent schools.

TRANSPORTATION IN BEE RIDGE

Traffic can be quite heavy in the Bee Ridge area, particularly around I-75 and Bee Ridge Road. In fact, in 2020, the area where Bee Ridge Road intersects with Beneva Road was named the most crash-prone intersection in Sarasota County, according to county traffic data.

However, once drivers navigate through these high-traffic spots, they have a fairly easy commute to other areas including downtown Sarasota and Siesta Key. Air travel is also easy, thanks to the area’s close proximity to several major airports. Bee Ridge is only 12 miles from the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ), 50 miles from the Charlotte County Airport (PGD), and 57 miles from the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (PIE).
